Howzit! Welcome to Ubuntu Roots — your little slice of Mzansi in the UK.

I’m born and raised in sunny South Africa, now navigating life in the (let’s be honest) not-so-sunny UK. I’ve always loved getting creative, and thought — why not share that with other South Africans abroad? Everything here is inspired by home and made to bring a bit of that lekker South African gees into your everyday life.

Now, you won’t find your favourite snack or drink here—no bowl of biltong, no refreshing beer or Savannah… mmm, wouldn’t that be lovely! But let’s refocus. Instead, you’ll find a variety of products inspired by South Africa, created for South Africans—from t-shirts and pintables to the occasional DIY craft project.

I’ve lived in South Africa for most of my life and moved to the UK in 2022. Sho! What a different world I now live in, but there’s always that feeling of missing South Africa. Sometimes, adding a little touch of home brings a bit of warmth to help you get through another gloomy day in the UK.
